Microalbumin screening allows glomerular damage to be detected before it develops into an irreversible renal condition, thus facilitating early treatment.

The creatinine pad allows spontaneous urine to be used. The result is reliable enough for interpreting microalbuminuria, regardless of urine concentration. The albumin/creatinine quotient is calculated automatically by the analyzers.
